some of the brands have a set screw in the strike. if you open the door and look at the strike there should be a small hole near the strike, if so youl need a allen wrench that will fit and loosen the set screw.

If there is a cylinder (i.e. it can be locked/unlocked with a key), then you have to insert the key, turn it, and then depress the tab to remove the handle, then you should be able to get at the mounting screws.

Emtek cylindrical locks are just like schlage A-series.

They are indeed called emergency keys. Kwikset part number 81087. If you search for Kwikset 81087 you will find several places to buy. (The other search engine - the one with a "G" followed by an "oogle" produces better results). Not expensive, shipping will make them seem expensive.

I would call Kwikset consumer customer service (1-800-327-LOCK), they might mail you a couple. Never know.

Otherwise, you can use a very small flat head screwdriver. If you really want the right item, buy a cheap Kwikset privacy lock for parts. Might be cheaper than the shipping.

You can use a SMALL flathead screwdriver to unlock them. I have no idea where my "keys" are.
Drill a hole through the end of the screwdiver and attach a key ring and hang it with your other keys.

Go to Home Depot/ lowes, etc. and visit the door hardware department. Look in the accessories and hardware area. I'm sure you will find it there!
